Below are two of the perfect panoramas that greeted us at the top of the mountain

All good things must come to an end
Another epic day on the mountain in ridiculous weather. The progress made by some of yesterday’s beginners was remarkable. Speeds that would set most speed cameras off on highways were regularly attained by our boys. The privilege of being at the top of the ski resort today at 3200metres was a sight that many of us commented on again and again through the day. Cloudless skies all day, peaks for endless miles in all directions and lush green valleys. Imagine every alpine scene you’ve seen in any format, multiply that by a billion and you’re getting somewhere close! At least the boys heeded all the strongest advice and used sun block to the nth degree. Still a few sore faces and panda eyes but nothing major. It is a tiring sport skiing and so on the journey home there was as much the sound of snoring as recollections of the last two days. A wonderful meal of lasagne (are we in Italy yet?!?!??) and a practice of the ceremony at the Commonwealth War Grave in Milan tomorrow afternoon capped off a great day. The boys have finished their evening yarning, playing basketball at the local courts and of course… duh, duh, duh .. yep you’ve guessed it.. FACEBOOKING! Ms Gorman and Mrs Marr were more than happy to spend the day at the local Swaworski (again correct spelling?!?!?) factory spending all the flexibility their plastic had to offer. A long drive to Milan tomorrow with stunning scenery promised! |
