Ned and the other boys try the first snails on tour - like earthy mussels they were described as. Proper little foodies we have on tour obviously! |
Paris captures the boys' imagination .....
It's difficult to describe the difference between London and Paris but they are a universe apart! The vote is split evenly between our boys as to which city they prefer. It doesn't matter a jot but the boys have really appreciated the architecture and the relaxed feel that Paris has. The weather helped today - it was just perfect. We were so pleased that the boys took the advice that ordering a Big Mac in Paris is much the same as anywhere else. All boys today tried genuine French cuisine from a genuine French outlet. From Snails to Pizza (French??!!!!) to crepes, local delicacies were sampled. The only complaint - the price of food! This evening the lure of the shops struck again. We raced in the opposite direction to this morning on the Metro and found the nearest shopping mall. At 8.40pm in the evening with only 20 minutes to closing time, fear not our boys can still spend large. Whether it be practical or fashionable, necessary or accessory only the mall known as Italie 2 in central Paris did very well tonight. And so did the dairy on the walk back to the hotel - kiwi boys love their Pringles, chocolate and mineral water. One of the boys on the way back said "this walk is more exciting than the shopping. I mean taking everything in like this, it's so different to what we have at home". I think that's what they call SUCCESS! Long 6 and half hour drive tomorrow to Dortmund. The blog will do well to have as many exciting photos as the last day! |
